Electric Blue Persuasion

2005-07-13 - 3:01 p.m.

Oh man oh man did the Pixies concert ever rock! They played a ton of songs (which is easy to do when most of your songs are under the 3 minute mark). The set list included most of my favorite songs (only "Holiday Song" was the most glaring omission as far as I was concerned). I wish Kim got to do more songs. And I'm sure that's just the kind of wishing that broke up the band in the first place. The set looked like a lab of some evil scientist from some Z-grade movie. It was all blue and glowy. So you just know Andrea and I fell in love with it. Andrea bought a Pixies tote bag and I bought a sweet Pixies shirt with a MANTA RAY ON IT. Super sweet. I felt bad that Beth couldn't make it so I snatched one for her as well.

We were cloest to Kim of all the band members. Although Frank, Joey, David and Kim should all be damn proud of how great they still sound. Who knows if they're all back together for the money - and I don't care if they are - they still sound fantastic and the best part? Each concert is recorded and you can buy the CD of the show you went to. (With appropriate Manta Ray art, obv.) I ordered mine at the show and it should be here any day. Sweeeeeeet.
